Business & Entrepreneurship

Our Business and Entrepreneurship (a.k.a Business Hub) was established in 2017 through the support of the European Union. It is an innovation space within the Center at Birzeit University designed to nurture ideas and creativity and provide an environment which is conducive to creating new businesses or developing existing ones. We work with potential entrepreneurs to develop and turn their business ideas into successful commercial ventures, and also work with Small and Medium size Entity’s (SMEs) to assess their business models, review their operation and production processes, re-think their marketing strategy, among other services.

We provide our consulting services to two groups: Start-ups, and established businesses.

Mentoring Start-up

Potential entrepreneurs are provided with a comprehensive and integrated range of support including incubation space and business mentoring. Our team of mentors are qualified in a wide range of business fields and works individually with each business helping them analyze, model, and start their particular business venture in a particular market context. We offer the following among other services

At our Center learning takes place as partners and beneficiaries engage in projects being implemented by CCE for their benefits.  The underlying principle here is working with the beneficiaries in designing and implementing their projects – not doing it for them.  CCE mentors and technical experts provide limited training or orientation (where needed), for example, working with the partners on the design of their intervention, giving them assignments, and coaching them as they develop the solutions for their own community or business.

Our Business Services are provided to all types of established businesses as well as to non-governmental organizations. We serve owners of existing companies – of any size, operating in any industry, registered or unregistered, and located anywhere in Palestine (including East Jerusalem). We use a holistic approach combining training with individual face-to-face mentoring. In the provision of the mentorship services, CCE relies on its in-house team of business experts in addition to mentors trained in the “Mentoring of SMEs” professional diploma conducted by CCE in 2010. Our team comprises 15 highly qualified and experienced mentors.

We promote social and green practices …

Our Unit promotes social and green practices as fundamental and necessary practices for managing the business in a local challenging context characterized by unsafe ecology, unequal society, and unfair employment practices. We help organizations and enterprises adopt social and green practices in a feasible manner without imposing substantial financial burden.
