Dealing with domestic violence issues within the legal framework

Enhancing participants' awareness of the concept of protection from domestic violence and its characteristics.

Developing the participants’ knowledge of the texts of applicable laws in Palestine related to family issues that may result in violence against children or women, by addressing issues related to the family and personal status law such as marriage, divorce, alimony, custody and witnessing.

Enhancing participants' awareness of the best practice for effective protection of a child victim of domestic violence.

Enhancing participants' awareness of the best practice of effective protection for women victims of domestic violence.

Determining the basic principles and indicators that deal with protection from violence within the family and reflecting it in their supervisory role over specialists in the scope of their work.

Deepening the awareness of the participants in order to activate the role of child protection counselors in issues related to the family, especially nursery and viewing, especially the importance of their social reports about the victims, in addition to coordination and networking with the relevant authorities.

Enhance legal understanding of indicators related to protection from domestic violence; By addressing the legal texts related to reporting and its obligation, risk assessment, response and mechanisms for providing protection for children and girls in accordance with the legislation in force in Palestine.

Developing a legal understanding of the mechanisms to protect women victims of violence, especially domestic violence.

Enhancing the participants’ awareness of the international conventions related to the protection of women and children from violence within the family.

Developing the legal knowledge of the participants about ways to provide protection for battered women by informing them about the national system for the abuse of battered women, in addition to the system of centers for the protection of battered women.

Propose appropriate amendments to the draft law on family protection from violence in the light of international principles and standards in protecting women victims of domestic violence.

Mentor's performance appraisal

The goals of this course is to equip the Participants with

  • knowledge of the definition of observation and accompaniment in the field of support professions
  • knowledge of the different objectives of watching and accompaniment.
  • knowledge of the steps to implement the observation and accompaniment.
  • knowledge of the methodology of implementing the observation and accompaniment.
  • ability to implement the observation and accompaniment methodology.
  • ability to use the required skills in watching and accompaniment.
Providing support and assistance

The course deals with the basic concepts related to the presentation and discussion of cases in supervision, and works to provide participants with a clear and specific methodology that helps in managing supervision during presentation of cases, the course also seeks to provide participants - through role-playing - with the basic skills that enable them to efficiently manage supervision during presentation of cases. The course is for 20 hours - three training sessions - during which the theoretical side will be addressed, but more focus will be on the side Practicality and practice. In this course, relying on the experience and expertise of the participants, presenting the challenges and problems they face during supervision meetings, and bringing them to discussion and dealing with them during the training.

Case management and case conference

The course deals with the concept of case management as one of the intervention strategies used by the social worker to provide a comprehensive service that intersects and overlaps with a number of disciplines to achieve goals, respond to the needs of the beneficiary and achieve the desired strategic change in the life of the individual or family. The training course "case management" deals with introducing participants to all concepts And the tools associated with case management and building participants' ability to use them effectively and efficiently. Participants are expected to interact at all stages of the course, commit and work together.

Child and adolescence development stages

In this course we have selected exciting topics and activities for teaching participants the development stages and its dimensions in children and adolescence development.

Supervision theories and methods

We will start with a Discussion, review and reminder of the most important topics related to the mentoring supervision process that were addressed in previous courses 

 Second: An activity in a large discussion group to come up with a common definition of the concept of theory and building theory, and then review Resource 1: From the book “The Theory of Curriculum” p. 2-pg. 5

 Third: Pairs activity: identifying the main activities in building theories and then discussing with the large group

Fourth: Requesting an individual home work assignment: What are the expected tasks from building the theory?

Fifth: Summarizing the meeting through Resource 2: Presentation of the PPt, feedback and closing the meeting

2 nd Meeting plan:

First: a review of the previous meeting and delivery and examples of the answers to the home task

Second: A role-playing activity (fish bowl group) to represent a supervisory session

Third: Giving learning feedback to all trainees on "role-playing".

Fourth: A discussion with the large group on the theory of the seven eyes in professional supervision

Fifth: Summarizing the discussion and closing the session

Training Methodology

  • First: Review the previous meeting and discuss the home assignment
  • Second: Implementation of an individual exercise by completing a class question           based on the home job
  • Third: A large group discussion: Explaining the evolutionary theory of professional        supervision and linking it to the stages of moral development of Kohlberg
  • Large group discussion: Briefly explain systems theory in professional supervision,         which will be presented in detail in the family counseling course
