The introduction is designed to introduce basic definitions and concepts that will provide a framework for contextualizing the future modules. It also introduces the foundational concept of integration of mental health into primary care as well as provides skills-training in basic communication skills and interviewing techniques that will be reinforced and built upon throughout subsequent modules.

This module will introduce you to the early interactions that take place between parents and their infant. Major topics covered in this module will include psychological needs of the mother to-be during pregnancy and after delivery, the new challenges parents will face during this period and the problems that can occur during this developmental stage of the family cycle. This module will try to show how the events that take place during pregnancy, after delivery and in the early interactions between the baby and his parents can have an impact on the child's development

Normal Development of Children course banner

This course will introduce you to normal and abnormal aspects of child development. The training approach is skills based, so you will learn how to asses children's development and their interaction with their families, and identify risk and resilience factors of child mental health. Major emotional and behavioral problems will be introduced and essential management methods will be presented.
