Course Description

This Course will help you getting to know the concept of good governance in a more comprehensive way, with the aim of expanding the base of actors who have the ability to generalize it in their institutions and professional practices. We will address the definition of authority and governance, clarify the concept of good governance and the importance of community participation, and this will be done through analysis and study of practical cases and discussion. The concept of transparency, openness, the right to information and the means to achieve transparency will be introduced. Accountability, its tools and obstacles will be defined, and an overview of the political authority's agreement on accountability tools and institutions will be given. the manifestations of the rule of law in any society, and in the Palestinian society in particular, will be discussed, and the difficulties encountered in adhering to the rule of law will be addressed.

With both the political dimension and the socio-economic dimension of good governance by distinguishing between them and arriving at the issue of political equality versus socio-economic equity. In the last meeting, the focus will be on the concept of participation and defining its objectives, tools and means by reviewing the practical reality of the participants.
